Barbara
Bonvin
For more than 20 years, Barbara Bonvin's work has been part of an exploration
deep understanding of materials and their metamorphoses. His approach, at the same time experimental and conceptual, invites meditation on the passage of time and the fragility of existence.
The artist uses a wide range of techniques (painting, drawing, print, ceramics) which allow him to explore the limits of the material and reveal its intrinsic quality. Fire occupies a central place in his research where it is both a tool of creation and a symbol of transmutation.
Situated at the crossroads of art, science and philosophy, his work is anchored
in the contemporary world. His protean works take on a dimension
dreamlike and universal which questions us about impermanence and highlights
our relationship to the cycles of life.
His creations are regularly presented in Switzerland and abroad.
Alongside her research work, Barbara Bonvin teaches her techniques
in her workshop, in the form of monthly courses and workshops. She works
also in collaboration with various public and private institutions.
She lives and works in Romainmôtier.
